Working with Oahu photographer Bruce Foley to create the new book
"Discover Oahu: A Pictorial Guide to a Tropical Island Paradise" was an
enjoyable experience for me as a writer.
Foley did such a nice job of escorting the reader visually to all of the
island's most popular attractions, as well as its jungle waterfalls,
historic locations, panoramic ridges, and the best surfing in the world.
His love of the beauty of the island really comes across in his
photography.
I also learned a great deal about island history and was especially
intrigued with the history of Honolulu's Chinatown. Did you know that
Honolulu's Chinatown is reported to be the oldest in the United States?
Yes, it dates back 138 years when the name “Chinatown” was first used
around 1870.
Oahu is truly a unique destination. This travel guide is a MUST HAVE
for anyone planning to visit. Purchase at
Amazon.com. |

OUT-OF-PRINT ~
In the
early 90s I met the
woman that would become the co-author to my first book,
Surviving College, her name was Angie Gilfillan. (She later
divorced and took back her maiden name "Roberts.") Now, many years have
past and our friendship continues to flourish. One day maybe we'll pen
another book together as we had a wonderful time getting this one to
print! |
